What We Do

It's a good question!
We feel that simply listing the standard list of GP services would be doing an injustice to our aspirations.

Of course, we have a primary care medical service contract for GP services, we have a community eye contract which allows us to provide a hospital style eye service, we are partners in a 100hr pharmacy called "The Pudsey Pharmacy" which is open seven days a week and delivers medications free of charge into the evening and weekends.

Your health and wellbeing
But we are more than that.  In truth, our vision is to become more than a standard GP surgery and become a true health and wellbeing centre for the West side of Leeds.

What does this mean?  Put simply, health care isn't just about being there for when you need us.  It is about proactively looking after our patients to prevent or delay the development of health conditions in the first place.  It is also about programmes of work and education that helps improve the health of patients and the sense of wellbeing - the part that makes us feel alive and able to contribute to life.  It is about empowering our patients to look after their own health in the safe assurance that we are there for them.

Investment
To compliment our vision, we have embarked upon a redevelopment of our practice which is near completion.  This has covered extensive investment in our premises, our infrastructure, our services and our staff.  All to improve the patient experience.

We are also in the process of buying a local property to turn into a true community centre which will provide a range of services, free to the public, and act as a focal point for the community.

We are also considering opening a coffee shop to allow our patients a place to congregate and share together, with a proportion of the profits being given back to the health and wellbeing of the community.

Growth and the future
Over the last two and a half years, we have steadily grown from 8,500 patients to 10,500 patients.  The more patients that join us on our journey, the more we can provide and offer.  Some call it economies of scale.  We call it sharing a journey fit for the 21st century lifestyle.  It is a journey of trust, and a journey that has your health and wellbeing at its heart.

If you are interested in the work we do, please get in contact with us.  You can write to our practice or ask to speak to the Managing Business Partner, Samuel Forbes, who would be delighted to share with your our emerging vision and aspirations for our community.
