Nurses

As well as access to a general practitioner, the practice also offers nurse treatment services including

  • dressings and removal of stitches
  • ear syringing

  • menopause management
  • well woman checkups
  • well man checkups
  • cervical smears
Our nurses also offer specialised clinics within the areas of

  • Child Surveillance
  • annual flu clinics.

Sick Notes

A doctor’s sick note is only required for absence from work over seven days. For absence due to sickness of seven days or less you should fill in a ‘self-certification’ form.

Maternity Care

Patients are seen for antenatal care by the midwife on Tuesday afternoons and by the doctors during surgery hours. The doctors give a full postnatal check at six-eight weeks at the surgery.

Baby Clinic

This is run by the health visitors for child developmental checks and immunisations, and allows an opportunity to discuss other problems eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries.

Contraception/Sexual Health

Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors and can be discussed with them or the practice nurses. There is also a Sexual Health Clinic which is held on Thursdays from 4.30 - 6.30pm. This clinic is run by one of our practice nurses who is trained in sexual health and contraception. Book for advice, contraception and smears. Condoms and emergency contraception are also available. Emergencies will be seen without an appointment.

Minor Surgery

Some of the doctors carry out minor surgery. Non-NHS Examinations The doctors are happy to carry out medicals eg insurance, HGV and PSV by appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services and contact your insurers/DVLC to ensure we have the forms needed.

Patients 75 Years Or Over

If you are 75 or over and have not seen one of us in the last 12 months, we will write to you suggesting a nurse comes to visit you to check your blood pressure, urine, vision and hearing. If you do not want her to come, please let us know.

Flu Immunisation

An influenza immunisation is recommended for patients aged 65 or over, or with heart, lung (all patients of any age who use inhalers for asthma) or kidney disease, diabetes and for most residents of nursing and residential homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of immunisation dates.

Self-Help Groups

The Robin Lane Practice is pleased to host the Leeds & District Breathe Easy Group. The group provides support and advice for people with chest problems such as emphysema, alveolitis, bronchiectasis, asthma, bronchitis etc. They meet at 1.30 - 3.00pm the last Friday of each month (except December). Carers are also welcome.
