Your options for a GP or Nurse Practitioner appointment
We understand that the modern day lifestyle requires a modern day response in the design of our services. That is why we have made the following improvements:
1. Do you need a face to face appointment or would you prefer a telephone appointment where our doctor or nurse practitioner will call you? If you would like a telephone appointment, simply request one when you call us!
2. You can book appointments online 24 hours a day 7 days a week by logging on to our website. Call us and ask for your log in details.
3. We now offer 4 evening surgeries and at least 1 saturday morning surgery each week which can be booked up to one week in advance on a first come, first serve basis.
4. You can cancel an appointment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by either logging on to our website, or calling our practice - even out of hours! Simply leave your details on our messaging service.
5. A large proportion of our appointments are released at 8am for the following working day.
6. We run an urgent surgery each day ensuring that we can guarantee you an appointment the same day if you feel your medical problem needs urgent attention.
7. Finally, you can also email a doctor for general advice instead of having to make an appointment.ÿ We will then endeavour to reply to you within 48 hours with a full response. Email us by clicking on the `ONLINE CONSULTATION` link.ÿ Please note, we can only deal with general advice and queries.ÿ We cannot provide you with information from your medical records. All all queries must be for non-urgent items only.
Missed appointments
The practice currently experiences over 125 missed appointments each and every month. Due to the number of patients failing to attend for their appointment, this may mean that you may not be able to see a clinician on the day that you wish to. In an attempt to try and resolve this, the practice has developed the following policy:
If a patient fails to attend 2 appointments within a twelve month period without informing the practice, the practice will write to the patient asking if there are any specific problems preventing the patient from letting the practice know why they were unable to attend.
If a patient fails to attend for a 3rd appointment within a twelve month period, the patient may be removed from the practice list and have to find an alternative GP practice.
